In preparation for Operation Telic (Gulf War 2, March 2003), underbelly mine protection armour was introduced across the CVR(T) family. By now, all Scimitars had gone through the LEP conversion to Cummins diesel power. See below.
Since then, it has been a common sight on all British Army CVR(T)s.
This was the first step in improving the vehicle’s protection which later included the introduction of Israeli-developed perforated armour (Plasan), and then bar armour.
This set should be used with the HKCW LEP Conversion Set CK3517.
