The original Armstrong damper and bump stops were used as suspension for most Scorpions and Scimitars. The later Messier dampers included the AFV Club kit were introduced into CVR(T) service, around 1990/91, just before the first Gulf War! Though the Scorpion was withdrawn in 1993, the question of how many were retrofitted with it remains debatable.
The idlers have been newly CAD re-designed by Robert Lockie and Tom Cromwell.
